Conference Update
In light of the recent conflict in Sudan we have been discussing whether our 7th international Sudan Studies Research Conference should go ahead on 4th and 5th May 2023 in Naples, Italy.
It is a hard decision to make, especially as we all have many friends and colleagues in Sudan.
We believe that it is important to continue with the Conference in May, in order to continue to highlight and help to raise awareness of the great wealth of cultural value of Sudan and the Sudanese people.
We have also decided to hold an extra day (online) further on in the year for all the colleagues who would still like to present but who could not participate as a result of the conflict. We will share further details about when this will be held in due course, as we need to take into consideration the welfare and wellbeing of our Sudanese colleagues.
Our thoughts continue to be with the Sudanese people.
